In the bird world, lots of changes take place in three weeks. Those darling fluffy baby chicks are now bigger with new feathers and just a touch of the baby down left here and there. They are eating like crazy and starting to fly.
Here is a French Marans at 3 weeks...gangly and growing...
Compare with the three day old chicks below...
As my cousin Nancy says,
May you find all your eggs...
Happy Easter!

That is amazing! Are they all still thriving? You have quite a knack for this country living!
Do they peck? (Thus the gloved hand in the 2nd photo that's not utilized in the first?)
Katie, They are all still thriving. We only got 10 so that is easier to manage than if we had 60 or 100. They don't peck each other unless crowded which the red light helps prevent. They don't peck hands but the hands are gloved because it is so cold outside and in the barn where their nursery has been moved. They have a heat lamp in their nursery so they are cozy in the barn. The first pic was taken in the house when the chicks were in a small nursery in the laundryroom.
The red heat light helps to prevent pecking and doesn't have anything to do with crowding. I didn't edit very carefully! Crowding stimulates pecking.
I remember some of this from being raised on a farm with chickens and learned lots from some great raising chickens books!
